THE GIBBS MYTH

I thought I was kidding about NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs being god-like, but the more I considered his attributes and what made him admirable the resemblance became clearer.

He knew love and lost it.  While he was at war his much loved wife and daughter were brutally murdered.  He puts together a team, a new family and they work together to fight evil and win.

New Family:

Tony, first son

McGee, computer genius

Ziva, a type of Wonder Woman

Abby, Brilliant, the best available in her field of forensics


GOD-LIKE TRAITS

• Hero/savior:He couldn’t save his family, but after avenging their death, the family he designs rages against evil and wins.
• 
  

   Wise:  He KNOWS, because his gut tells him.
• Omnipresent: When they need him, he’s there, often magically.
• Mysterious: Gibbs is a mystery man
• Appears not merely mortal: Referring to driving two hundred miles in twenty minutes, one of his team says, “ Even Gibbs couldn’t do that.”
• Indestructible: His team tries to decide what super hero might have a chance against him, they give none a hope.  Gibbs vs. Gibbs is the only possibility.
